Sagara obtained his undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in architecture from the University of Moratuwa in 1996 and 2000 respectively. At present, he is a faculty member of the Department of Integrated Design, University of Moratuwa. He believes in practicing what he advocates in his approach to teaching and learning expedition in Architecture and Design while enjoying what he does. Sagara is a Fellow of Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA) and he was elected as a member of the council of the SLIA for the sessions 2017-18 and 2018-19. Sagara’s innate passion for Art, Architecture and Archaeology has pronounced him to be an active member of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) Sri Lanka where he serves in the capacity of Joint Secretary.
