Ishani Ariyapperuma House, Panadura
As a practicing architect Sagara goes beyond his mere professional calling, evidently with his mind set amply fed by the multifaceted nature of his creative enterprise. Commissions often vary from undertakings of architectural projects to communication design and exhibitions.

He has won several design awards of excellence at the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects Annual Sessions including the “Dulux Colour Award” in 2006 for the creative use of colour in architecture, House of the Year Award for Ishani Ariyapperuma House at Panadura in 2007 and in 2008 Sagara’s aspirations were acknowledged by the Award of the “Young Architect of the Year”.
The Chapel and Resource Centre
St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa
Playground Elevation

For well over a century, St. Sebastian’s College of Moratuwa, stood as an epitome and a forerunner of education in the region, as well as an institution that could boast of architecture that reminisce buildings of colonial period. The Chapel and Resource Centre building was undertaken as the final phase of the recent re-development project of the college. The new building which houses the Administration Centre of the college together with the chapel above creates the blend of authority and spirituality. The design concept emphasises on a revival of conservative architectural traditions as part of the present. It re-captures the essence of the iconic architectural characters of the old colonial institutional buildings and re-interprets it in a simpler form to suit contemporary needs.
